Cake Balls

So I found this great idea while browsing blogs to make CAKE BALLS!!! They are very easy to make and are so good for what they are.
So this is what I did...First Buy a cake mix, a can of frosting, melting chocolate, and sprinkles!
I would not get the moist supreme cake mix cause it is way
to moist for the cake balls. So mix the cake as directed on the box and bake it at the temperature directed. You need to dry the cake out for it to work properly or else it will roll into a gummy ball kinda like playdoh. Which note to self will be good to make when I have kids. Once your cake is baked and is on the dry side, break it into chunks and grind it up with a chopper or food processor. Next mix in the frosting until it is mixed in well the cake will be pretty wet.

Next with a cookie scoop make ball and place on a wax paper sheet.
After that melt the chocolate as directed with a double broiler or in the microwave. Dip each of the balls into the chocolate and let them sit until the chocolate is hard.
Once it is hard dip the other side of the ball, so that now the whole cake ball is covered. Let them dry again until the chocolate is hard. Decorate them with sprinkles or even with icing to draw hearts, letters, etc.

So this was my first attempt at cake balls and plan to make many more! The options are endless and you can make them for any holiday, event whatever! Hope you like this cause I did. They only lasted about 3-4 days at our house cause my better half ate most of them. ha:)
